The Magical World of Disney!

Madelyn met Belle after meeting Cinderella and wouldn't stop talking about Cinderella! Sweet Belle said, "She is beautiful, isn't she?" I felt so bad. Madelyn hasn't seen Beauty and the Beast yet. Whoops.
Catharine eating french fries for the first time. She LOVED them. Nasty huh?
The last day of our vacation, Madelyn FINALLY got to ride the teacups! She had talked about them for months before we got there and she loved it. She still talks about riding them!
Spinning around!
Star struck. Madelyn LOVED meeting Cinderella. My highlight as well. It was magical. We were only 5th in line out of TONS of people!
Asking Sleeping Beauty about Cinderella. How embarrassing!
Aw!!
They wish and dream. They sing and dance. They talk to animals. They live live in cottages, castles, and under the sea. And always at last-when the moment is right, and the magic is on their side-they dance, in lovely gowns, to the music of true love.

What little girl doesn't want to be like them and share their stories? Stories where goodness triumphs over adversity, and a kiss takes care of everything. Where she can believe she's the prettiest girl at the ball.

Disney World for Christmas was beautiful, magical and way too much fun. The girls did much better than anyone could have ever expected for their ages. Catharine was so good about going all day long. She would just go with the flow! Madelyn was very over stimulated, but LOVED every part of Disney. Her favorites were the castle, Cinderella (of course) and shopping with Nana. You know she shopped too much when on the way home she said at a gas station, "Mom, put on Madelyn's shoes, I want to go shopping!" Who goes shopping at a gas station????? Out of control! There are hundreds of pictures from our trip, so I'll add my favorites that highlight the trip for you.
Thank you to all of the advice from friends who have been to Disney with their kids recently. It all really helped. Andrea came prepared with tons of little toys, snacks, drinks, puppy and monkey leashes for the kids (that they LOVED) and we splurged every day on the park strollers. It really was wonderful. We were exhausted most of the time, but the magic just made it worth every second.
We hope your Christmas was wonderful. Enjoy the pictures!
Catharine wearing summer clothes! It was in the late 70's and even 80 one day!

The Christmas tree at the Animal Kingdom park. We loved this park! We ate at the Rainforest Cafe, which was so much fun! This was our first day in Disney World.
Not the greatest picture, but this is the double stroller at Animal Kingdom. The kids look so cute sitting next to each other.
Waiting for the bus to pick us up. Look at those excited faces!

Early Christmas at the Martin Home!

Merry Christmas!
Last night we took the girls to "Meadow Lights" in Benson, North Carolina. It was a very large meadow (thus the name) that is decked with tons of decorations, a train ride, carousel, pictures with Santa, and an old time country store. Madelyn actually wasn't scared taking her picture with Santa (thanks to the sucker bribe), and Catharine smiled after the picture was taken. I don't have a copy to put on the blog :( but I'll try to figure out how to copy it and post it later on.
The girls opened their presents tonight, Madelyn loved it and Catharine loved eating the paper! We also made Grandma Gayle's sugar cookies (Madelyn loved making little balls and putting them on the pan)...they were a big hit!
We will be leaving tomorrow morning to drive to Disney World in Florida! We are meeting Justin's parents and sister's family for a whole week of fun! Madelyn is very excited, she has been talking about riding the teacups for weeks now.

The Latest...

Justin and I celebrated our five year anniversary on Friday and we went to see the Nutcracker, this was the only picture I could take because of the no picture taking rule. The Stage at the Nutcracker.
This was Madelyn's last day with Mackenzie (our neighbor) because her family moved on Sunday. Zachary and Isaac came over too and the kids watched "Finding Nemo" on my bed.
Our entire Sunday school class and their kids at the Christmas party.
Proof that Catharine is pulling up on everything!
