Our trip to Washington was delightful. We did so many fun things and spent quality time with family we don't get to see often. Catharine met lots of new faces and charmed them all with her sweet smiles. Some highlights of our trip were a trip to Birch Bay, Madelyn's first beach experience. She loved it so much that we had to drag her back to the car. She filled a bucket full of rocks and shells and chased the birds. We also took a trip to an apple orchard where we saw a pumpkin patch, lots of apples and other fun fallish things. Madelyn had so much fun running around in her Great Grandmother's yard (with a jacket and jeans because it was true fall weather!) she picked flowers because it was time to "dead head" them anyway. She is truly ruined, now I'm going to have to try and teach her NOT to pick flowers!! We enjoyed looking at Mt. Baker out of Grandma's kitchen window, and just spending time with loved ones. We saw my Grandma Phyllis at her new home in a nursing home. She loved seeing Catharine and Madelyn, and me. She misses her family very much.
