She Turns Six

(To come later, pictures from our pre-birthday party at Nana and Pop's house)

Today our oldest turned six!  She woke up to the birthday song, had her favorite breakfast and opened presents and cards before Daddy went to work.  We got ready and went shopping so she could spend her birthday money.  She had a blast walking through Target choosing whatever she wanted (with some help from Mom) and I must add that Catharine got a lil' something too :)  Elizabeth was just pleasant and enjoyed the trip.  The lady at the bakery gave the girls each a chocolate chip cookie and rings, and then we were on our way home.  I asked Madelyn what she wanted for lunch (expecting a stop at Chick-Fil-A or McDonald's) and she replied with, "I want Maggie noodles."  Maggie noodles are India's equivalent of Ramen noodles.  The girls were so happy to eat that for lunch, so there ya go!  After the little girls napped, we went to McDonald's to get ice cream and then shopped for some groceries at Publix.  It was a good day.  We ended with looking through her baby scrapbook together as a family.  And now, she is six.  We are so thankful for this precious girl.  God truly blessed us with an incredible first born.  Her name means a "high tower of grace" and that she is becoming.

(Since our computer crash in the winter, our pictures are crazy so I couldn't find Madelyn's one year and younger pictures.)
